Litigation & Court Record Checks

Relevant information from accessible court records, registries, regulatory sources and official channels.

Overview

What this service covers

Research relevant litigation and court records associated with a company or individual. Where accessible, enquiries may cover civil litigation, commercial disputes, insolvency proceedings, judgments and other relevant court information. A case does not establish wrongdoing, and records may not reflect the final outcome or later developments.

Our process

How we conduct this check

Each step is visible to you in the client portal, from scoping to delivery.

  1. Define the search

We confirm the subject, identifiers, courts and time period to be searched.

  2. Select court sources

Accessible court, insolvency and judgment sources are identified for each jurisdiction.

  3. Search and retrieve

Searches are run and relevant case records retrieved where available.

  4. Match and interpret

Cases are matched to the subject and their status and nature are interpreted carefully.

  5. Report in context

Findings explain what each case is, its known status, and what records do not show.

Methodology

Our methodology

Court record access is uneven: some systems are comprehensive and searchable, others are partial or require local enquiries, and sealed matters are not accessible.

We report each case with its source and known status, and we never treat the existence of litigation as proof of wrongdoing. A search with no results is reported as such, with its limits.

Cases are explained in context, not just listed.

Honest nil results

We explain what a search with no results does and does not mean.

Multi-court coverage

Searches across jurisdictions in one report.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does a court case mean the subject did something wrong?

No. Litigation is common in business and may not reflect wrongdoing. Records may also not reflect the final outcome.

Can you search every court?

We search the courts and sources accessible in each jurisdiction. Some records are incomplete, unindexed or restricted, and we report those limits.

Do you cover insolvency?

Yes, insolvency and bankruptcy registers are included where accessible.
